As part of the France-Korea year, the Korean artist Kimsooja transfigures the space of the Centre Pompidou-Metz with his exhibition To Breathe. The glass surfaces covered with films diffracting light, the floor transformed into an endless mirror reframe any notion of horizontality or verticality, and the projection of the colored spectrum accompanied by the artist’s breathing, transforms the space into a huge painting three-dimensional monochrome, a sensitive and dreamlike landscape, which visitors can cross. Gilles Coudert‘s film follows the installation of the exhibition until its completion and is nourished by the words of Kimsooja and the director of the Center Pompidou-Metz, Emma Lavigne, as well as the impressions of visitors.
