This film presents “True Stories”, a collective exhibition at MACVAL / Musée d’Art Contemporain du Val-de-Marne, which brings together the works of around forty artists from various generations and develops the idea that everything is fiction, like a weaving of diverse and varied stories.

The artists exhibited have in common the use of fictional strategies and postures which are anchored in attempts to describe the world, tinged, among other things, with speculative or even documentary narration. They peel back the layers of appearances to reveal other narratives and to bring out other stories.

Frank Lamy, curator of the exhibition, alongside the artists Virginie Barré, Alice Brygo, Laura Bottereau & Marine Fiquet and Smith, give us in turn their reflections on the stories and their truths.
